Please allow us 2 working days to process your request for a repeat prescription. This enables us to check, record, issue and signs the prescription.
Please ensure that you order your repeat medications in plenty of time so that you do not run out.
You can bring, send, post or fax your prescription request to the practice.
You can also order your repeat prescription online. In order to use this service, you must obtain a unique username and password from reception staff.
THIS ONLINE SERVICE IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO PATIENTS AGED 16 YEARS AND OVER.
The username and password ensure patient confidentiality.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT REQUESTS FOR REPEAT MEDICATION OVER THE TELEPHONE.
Emergency Requests
In the case of emergency prescription requests, we will do our utmost to process these as quickly as possible. The earlier these requests are made, the better the chance of them being acted upon quickly and efficiently.
NHS Charges
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
- Prescription (per item): £7.85
- 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £104.00
- 3-month PPC: £29.10
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
